Just wondering.....

I'm trying to plan ahead. If I don't get a job, VERY SOON, I'll lose my vehicle. There are 8 saddle-broke horses in the pasture. I used to love to ride. How much mileage, per day, can you get out of a horse?? I live about 17.5 miles (one way) from Walmart. Wouldn't want to over-tire the horse....he's gotta make the return trip, too! Was thinking, heck, I could just revert back to the "good ole' days" when the main method of transportation was HORSEBACK. I'm sure I can find some saddlebags in the tack room in the barn....gotta be able to bring those groceries home from Walmart! Oh, damn! That poses a completely new set of problems to deal with! WHERE on Walmart's parking lot, can you tether a horse?? It's not like they have hitching rails anymore (but maybe they should consider THAT parking lot "upgrade", given our current economy!) Then there's the issue of security! How do you "lock" your vehicle, when your vehicle is a horse!! (Do they still prosecute horse thieves??) Geez, then there's the exhaust to deal with!! When I used to visit the dog park, there were little boxes located here & there that contained plastic bags for collecting your dog's 'business'. Maybe Walmart could install something similar....only with bigger bags, and maybe a small shovel! I've noticed they have large trashcans strategically placed by the "cart return corrals". Would anyone complain if 'road apples' were to be deposited there?? (well, I guess they guy having to take out the trash would certainly complain!!) But still...shouldn't there be accommodations for those of us wanting (needing) to ride our horses to Walmart?? Hey!! Do I smell a 'discrimination' suit?? A good Class Action could force Walmart to rollback more than just their prices!! LOL
